Finance Manager
Shanghai
Responsibilities
1. JDE Month-end closing and reporting
(1) Working together with SSC (share service center in Dalian) to ensure all related tasks completed on a timely and accurately manner;
(2) Complete month-end / quarter-end / year-end Financial reporting pack and ad hoc reports required by corporate reporting team;
(3) Organizing original documents and invoices filled and sent to SSC for filling purpose;
(4) Reviewing Balance Sheet key line items on a monthly basis and reconcile the movements by sub-account.
2. Fixed Assets and CAPEX
(1) Ensure CAPEX investment pre-approved, working together with SSC to ensure all related items set up in JDE and amortized based on standards / regulation;
(2) Keep all Fixed Assets tracking closely, working together with SSC to ensure FA cards set up in JDE and depreciated based on standards / regulation.
3. Tax invoicing
(1) Issuing invoices to licensing clients based on agreement and actual payment;
(2) Applying new tax invoices from Tax bureau;
(3) Tracking GRNI.
4. Statutory tax reporting and filed work
(1) Completing monthly, quarterly, yearly statutory tax reporting on a timely manner;
(2) Coordinating with local tax officer for related filed works;
(3) Completing CIT (corporate income tax), Surtax and Stamp duty reporting;
(4) Withholding tax reporting.
5. External and Internal audit
(1) Coordinate with external audit firm to complete annual audit;
(2) Working together with group internal audit team to fulfill internal compliance audit or due diligence.
6. Banking and Payments
(1) Preparing payment request list and coordinating with SSC for weekly payment schedule;
(2) Maintaining vendor master file and coordinating with SSC for vendor set up;
(3) CITI bank related file works;
• Sealing on related corporate agreements / contracts with company chop based on approval;
• Working as HR and Admin assistant on related issues (including office operation, coordination with internal and external HR partners);
• Assist in budget and forecast process;
• Participating in UMP China SAP implementation;
• Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by Finance Director.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent, overseas education is a plus;
2. Minimum 5 years experiences in Accounting or FP&A;
3. Music industry related experience is a plus;
4. Knowledge and experience on US GAAP, PRC GAAP and tax operation;
5. Strong statutory company tax knowledge inclusive of income tax, VAT, Withholding Tax and other taxes as required;
6. Extensive accounting systems experience (Hyperion Financial Management, JDE, SAP) ;
7. Extensive Excel, Word and PowerPoint and experience;
8. Proactive and positive approach to work and able to meet tight deadlines;
9. Good communication skills both internally and externally, be able to work under pressure and can demonstrate strong ownership;
10. Strong organizational skills due to the high scope of the position;
11. LANGUAGE: Fluent in English and Chinese, reliable and responsible;

Responsibilities
The candidate is aiming to provide high quality data inputting results within deadline, s/he is an independent worker with strong ownership on tasks. Not be afraid of troubles or challenges and willing to solve together with others.
1. Be responsible for copyrights information being accurately maintained in local system, include agreement registration and music works (creation, modification…) ;
2. Working together with global admin team, platform partner and local society to solve copyrights conflicts raised;
3. Being super user of local admin system and support global team on system upgrade and enhancement;
4. Working together with royalty team to solve errors related to copyrights;
5. Ad-hoc projects and requests as required.
Qualifications
1. 2 to 3 years working experience in music copyrights field or accounting data processing role;
2. Fluent in Chinese and English listening, speaking, reading and writing;
3. Quick learner and good with system data operation;
4. Familiar with Microsoft office software, such as Excel, PPT, word, etc;
5. Preciseness working, good communication and team work spirit;
6. Bachelor and / or master degree in Business / Accounting / Finance / statistics, music business management or related area strongly preferred.
Copyright and Licensing Executive

Responsibilities
1. Assist the Licensing Senior Manager with review, negotiate and secure mechanical, synchronization licenses and digital as well as other publishing licenses covering the exploitation of UMP’s musical compositions;
2. Assist the Licensing Manager with the analyze and apply the mechanical licensing and other related royalty provisions in UMP’s agreements with its recording artists and producers and in other agreements between songwriters and their publishing companies and administrators;
3. Manage all aspects of the music licensing process from rate quotes to payment;
4. Coordinate and administrate the licensing processes and keep accurate and detailed records for all broadcasts, Internet distribution, and production events;
5. Serve as key point of contact for all licensing communication – incoming and outgoing – regular, proactive and troubleshooting – external and internal – to optimize licensing operations efficiency;
6. Assist the Licensing Manager with respond to inquiries from music publishers and other music publishing rights administrators;
7. Perform other duties and tasks related to the department’s role and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
1. A bachelor’s degree in Recording Arts, Music Composition, Film, Music Business, Entertainment Law or related field or comparable experience in the field;
2. At least 1 year of working experience in the music licensing & publishing industry;
3. Solid Knowledge of synchronization, performance, and master rights. Working knowledge of publisher royalty system preferred;
4. Excellent analytical, mathematical and organizational skills;
5. Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills, with an ability to multitask;
6. Experience with cue sheets a plus;
7. Fluent oral Mandarin and English, a professional standard of Mandarin and English reading and writing ability;
8. Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, strong computer skills, including strong data entry skills (with an emphasis on accuracy) ;
9. Formal email etiquette.
Music & Creative Manager
Beijing / Shanghai
Responsibilities
This role will be responsible for providing UPM music and services to China clients from music fulfilment, content management, composer communications and other duties according to business needs. This role will be part of the key member to assist BD / Sales to hit and exceed the annual targets by cultivating relationships and understanding customer trends from music & creative perspective, assist the team to grow the UPM China business together.
1. Assist BD / Sales in music pitches to clients such as broadcasters, agencies, production houses based on the requirements;
2. Provide project management support to BD / Sales and act as a communication channel between clients and composers / labels;
3. Curate music playlists for clients, including retail clients, such as Shopping Malls, Offices, Clubhouses etc;
4. In future, this role needs to develop the in-house music label(s) from planning, budgeting, production, publishing and releasing to various music platforms;
5. To assess and select local market needs for production music and secure local musicians to produce music for UPM.
Qualifications
1. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree of Music or above (or related discipline or experience).
2. EXPERIENCE (and other qualifications & essential traits):
• Strong sense and knowledge of commercial music categories (Genres, Themed, Style & etc.);
• Music editor experience and music producer experience preferred;
• Self-disciplined, energetic with strong sense of responsibility, detail-minded and able to work independently;
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to handle multi-tasks and work under pressure with positive attitude;
• Good business communication skill set;
